Camp Week

Activities

Something happening every hour — and a hammock if you'd rather take it easy.

2026 Camp

What a year

Camp 2026 was a wonderful week — the swimming hole reopened after two years of restoration, tie-dye trends swept the camp, and the auction raised $1,124 for camperships. The talent show brought down the house, and as always, the Potholes were calling.

We can't wait to do it all again. Camp 2027 — our 89th year — is June 19–26, 2027.

The Week

There's a pace here for everyone

Activities run all week and are designed for adults as much as kids. Some are decades-old camp traditions; some are thought up fresh each year at the Sunday planning meeting. Participation is always by choice.

Tie-dye at camp
Folk dancing

Tie-Dye

A Co-op Camp's tradition! Bring a white shirt, create a spiral masterpiece, wear it all week. Tie-dye rinse day follows a couple days later.

Folk Dancing

A nightly institution. Campers help walk you through every step — from Virginia Reel to the Misirlou. No experience needed, shoes optional. See the full dance list ↓

Carnival

Happening at dusk mid-week — booths, games, face painting, prizes, and live music. All carnival proceeds go toward camperships.

Talent Show

Friday night's main event. Ukuleles, Shakespeare, comedy, dance parties, and makeovers — campers of all ages share whatever they've got.

Live & Silent Auction

One of the most anticipated sales of the year! Original artwork, handmade items, camp experiences — and enthusiastic bidding. All proceeds support camp.

The Potholes & Swimming

A short hike to granite pools fed by a cold mountain creek. Also: Camp Sierra's Swimming Hole (creek fed pool)!

Co-op Fitness

Morning movement in the Rec Hall — Mon, Wed, and Fri. All ages and fitness levels welcome.

Current Events Discussion

A morning roundtable in the Rec Hall. Everyone gets 2–4 minutes, then open discussion.

Ukulele Strum-Along

Drop-in sessions with Rodney — loaner ukes available. Other string instruments welcome.

Crafts

The craft shack is open all week with nature printing, candle making, and more. Instructions posted inside.

Hiking

Trails of all levels nearby. All-day outings organized by campers mid-week — check the daily Twin Pines for details.

Campfire Singing

Evenings at the flagpole fire pit. S'mores encouraged.

Sing-Along

Afternoon sessions in the Rec Hall using the Rise Up Singing book. Everyone picks a song.

Social Hour

Daily happy hour, location TBD each day in the Twin Pines. Cheese, dips, and good company.

Trivia

Afternoon trivia run by campers — competitive but friendly. Teams form on the spot.

Board Games

Taboo, Rummikub, Bananagrams, Wizard — Rec Hall, afternoons and evenings.

Foot Strengthening & Stretching

Morning sessions with certified Pilates instructor Rebecca. Loose clothing recommended.

Kid's Fishing Trip

Mid-week trip to Huntington Lake. Kids under 10 need a parent. Meet at the flagpole.

Latin & Zydeco Dance Lessons

Salsa, Bachata, and Zydeco lessons offered during the week before folk dancing — no partner needed.

Childcare

Available Mon–Fri, 9 AM–12 PM for children 2 and up. Ends at 10:30 AM on All-Day Hike Day. Sign up at the playground Sunday at lunch.
